There are two parts to a dental implant: 1. a surgically placed root form in your jaw. 2. the replacement tooth or teeth that are placed on the root form or forms. |

Are you a candidate for dental implants?
- Dental implants are far preferable to removable complete dentures if you are missing all of your teeth. . Removable dentures have less than 50% of normal chewing efficiency and will also lead to gradual bone re absorption. Eventually the result is facial collapse and the inability to fit any kind of a denture.
- If you have one or two teeth missing, and the adjacent teeth are healthy and intact, dental implants eliminate the need for crowns on adjacent healthy teeth.
- If you do not have a supporting teeth on both sides of the missing tooth your only options would be dental implants or an removable appliance which can be very uncomfortable.
